Sugarette Baton Twirling

The Sugarettes Baton Twirling Team was founded by Major Sugar Smith in 1966. This non-for-profit organization has had over 1,000 girls  go through various areas of the program for over 40 years.

The Sugarettes have enjoyed many successful championships and performances, however, the foundation and heart of the Sugarettes is what sets them apart.  The Sugarettes is a Christ-centered group that focuses first on honoring God and developing the individual - and then the athlete. The team opens their organization to all who are interested - bringing together a wide range of individuals, economic levels, ages and abilities.

Currently, the team consists of young ladies from the age of 5 to 20. To prepare for national competition, they practice six hours a day, five days a week during the summer months and weekly during the school year.

The Sugarettes Baton Twirling Team is a place where young ladies develop persistence, dedication, team work, self worth, faith and character.
